Australian Border Force establishes "new" Customs Group

The IFCBA is always interested in sharing experiences, not only of our members but of members’ Customs administrations. One of our Australian friends, Andrew Hudson, who is a lawyer in Melbourne, has written about the decision of the Australian Border Force to establish a “Customs” group.  For those of us who have had the word “Customs” erased from the name of the government agency/department which manages Customs functions, this is an interesting development.

Paul Damkjaer, the Chief Executive Officer of IFCBA member CBFCA, has commented further:

The CBFCA is a member of these industry bodies that Andrew mentions and a number of other ABF committees such as, Compliance Advisory Group (CAG) and Trade Facilitation Initiative Working Group (TFIWG).  The CBFCA has always advocated that there should be more industry engagement to assist government in trade related matters and will continue to lobby for this.
